  地球の長老：「長生きの木」9選のギャラリー | WIRED VISION

  独立した世界最長老の木は、カリフォルニア州インヨー国立森林公園の、標高3000メートルの場所にある。

  樹齢4765年を誇るその原始の木は、エジプトに最初のピラミッドが建設されたときに、既に100歳だったことになる。

  破壊行為から守るために、森林局はこの木の正確な場所を秘密にしている(『Forest of Ancients』[古代の森]と呼ばれる森の中で、他の樹齢1000年級のグレートベースン・ヒッコリーマツたちの中に紛れている)。この写真が「最長老」かもしれない。
